Bala Cynwyd Resident's Theater Company Helps People Who Stutter, Sets Feb. 17-18 Shows

American Idol has publicized the plight of stutterers and shown how music can help people overcome their language barriers. But music isn't the only way that people who stutter can gain fluency.

Meet Together We Act, a non-profit outreach theater company that is committed to educating, motivating, and building confidence in people who stutter, so that they may have the opportunity to realize and reach their full potential through the process of acting.

The founder of Together We Act, David Shinefield, is a stutterer himself and a resident of Bala Cynwyd. David started this special theater company after he noticed that he hardly stuttered when performing memorized lines while acting in his university's plays.

Together We Act will be putting on their second play called "Tough Cookies" on Sunday, Feb. 17, and Monday, Feb. 18, at 2030 Sansom St. in Philadelphia.  Both performances will begin at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a Q&A with the actors.

Together We Act has just passed its first anniversary and looks forward to many more years of inspiring people and showing how everyone can acheive their goals regardless of disabilities.

Feel free to check out our website to learn more about what we do and find ticket information for our upcoming shows.
