Families Seeking Day Camps till School Starts Offered Variety on Main Line
LAVNER CAMPS CONTINUES EXCITING PROGRAMS THROUGH AUGUST 31 IN THREE MAIN LINE LOCATIONS
Specialty Camps Range from Video Game Design to Theater and Acting in Addition to the Popular Culinary, Robotics and Tennis Day Camp Programs
Summer of 2012 is flying by, but it’s not over yet. Offering flexibility to families who seek interesting camp programs to engage their children until school starts in September, Lavner Camps offers diverse activities in three convenient locations on the Main Line through August 31.
In addition to their established roster of culinary arts, tennis, robotics and video game design offered at their hub at the Cynwyd Club in Bala Cynwyd, Lavner Camps has added several specialty programs at two new Main Line locations in Bryn Mawr and Malvern. Providing the ultimate in flexibility and options, Lavner Camps allows families to enroll their child in many programs for either full or half-days, just one week or non-consecutive weeks. Each camp day provides a safe and stimulating environment that allows a child the time, tools and talented instructors to really explore a specific interest, whether it’s in the arts, technology or on the tennis court.
The following is a capsule of the programs available in each of the camp locations through August:
Bala Cynwyd – The Cynwyd Club through August 31 The main hub for Lavner Camps remains in Bala Cynwyd at The Cynwyd Club, 332 Trevor Lane in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Programs there will run until Friday August 31 and offerings include: the Video Game Programming & Design camp for digital designers, ages 6 – 14; Robotics & Technology Camp to engage young brainiacs, ages 6 to 14; Tennis Camp for all ability levels, for ages 4-16; and Culinary Arts Camp for aspiring chefs, ages 6 to 16.
Bryn Mawr – Barrack Academy through August 31 Creative children will enjoy three weeks of Theater Camp and two weeks of Acting Camp for young performers ages 7 – 14 on the campus of Barrack Academy, 272 S. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr. Located in the heart of the Main Line corridor, this location also offers four weeks of Robotics & Technology camp throughout August.
Malvern – Valley Forge Educational Services – August 6 through August 24 A broad range of creative activities will be offered during three weeks of late summer programs in Chester County at the new Lavner Camps location on the campus of Valley Forge Educational Services at 1777 N. Valley Road in Malvern. With full and half-day programs, a new Filmmaking Camp for video artists ages 8 to 15 is offered, along with Culinary, Robotics and Video Game programming & Design camps. Camp weeks span from August 6th to the 24th.
Camp owner Justin Lavner promises children a rich mix of supervised activity, carefree atmosphere and the upbeat attitude that makes for happy campers. “Our approach is to combine great curriculum and excellent instructors together with fascinating subject matter and a super fun atmosphere.” Lavner explained. “We apply this philosophy to all kids’ activities. We zero in on subjects that fascinate kids, subjects that may not be offered in school, and we create options for kids who prefer activities in Technology or the Arts to athletics. Each year we enrich well over 1,000 kids throughout the summer camps and year ‘round programs and we strive to have each camper feel a great sense of accomplishment through their camping experiences. That’s our goal – to instill confidence and the fun of learning in our campers, and to make kids’ lives better. We are proud that our staff is made up of people who truly enjoy working with children and who share our philosophy that kids enhance their self-esteem over the summer.”
Most Lavner Camps operate Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with extended day options for early arrival at 8:15 a.m. and late pickup until 5:30 p.m. Lunch may be purchased or campers may also pack lunch.
Sibling tuition discounts are offered, as well as generous referral incentives. Lavner Camps may be reached by telephone at (215) 767-1354 or on the website at lavnercamps.com. Additional information on each location and program is provided on the camp website: www.lavnercamps.com
