Local VIPs Attend Kick-Off for February Fundraiser
Bancroft’s 20th Butterfly Ball isn’t until February, but area VIPs are already drumming up excitement for the big event.
More than 70 community and business leaders came out recently for a kick-off reception, where they met executives and program leaders from Haddonfield-based Bancroft, a renowned nonprofit service provider for people with autism, brain injuries and related disabilities.
“This is the Ball’s 20th anniversary, so it’s an especially exciting year,” said Bancroft President Toni Pergolin. “The kick-off reception is another way for us to connect with past, current and future supporters.”
ARI / Holman Enterprises – a longtime donor to Bancroft – hosted the reception at its Mount Laurel offices.
“Bancroft literally transforms people’s lives, enabling them to do things no one thought possible,” said ARI manager Cheryl Graham. “They help hundreds of local families each year, so we’re very proud to help them in any way we can.”
Bancroft also recognizes others who make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities, presenting two annual awards at the Ball. This year’s honorees include Sheldon and Barbara Berkman, TD Bank and Rob Curley, TD’s South Jersey market president. For this special anniversary year, Bancroft will also honor all past award recipients.
Slated for Saturday Feb. 9 at The Merion in Cinnaminson, the gala is expected to draw more than 300 people and raise over $400,000 for Bancroft programs.
Special guest-MC will be Michael Barkann, sportscaster for Comcast Sports Network, who is donating his time in support of Bancroft. The festive event features a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner and dancing to live music.
