Main Line School Night Offers Engaging Courses and Experiences in Spring 2013

New ideas, new directions, new friends – find them all at Main Line School Night (MLSN) this spring!

As a recent participant commented, “I can use all that I learned in every aspect of my life.” For both first-time and returning students it might be exploring a new language like Chinese or Arabic, traveling with MLSN to meet the artists and people of Cuba, viewing Ten Films That Changed America,  Setting Up an Online Profile with Linkedin or experiencing Mystical Paths to Self Transformation. Learn about these and all of the 500 day, evening and weekend classes and register online at www.MainLineSchoolNight.org

Have time for only a one-session class or want to delve into a subject for 10 weeks? MLSN has a variety of class lengths to fit busy schedules. Daytime and Saturday classes are offered at MLSN’s Creutzburg Center in Radnor, as well as other convenient Main Line locations. Evening classes are available at the following high schools: Tuesdays at Lower Merion, Wednesdays at Harriton and Thursdays at Conestoga.  For registration information or to receive a catalog call 610-687-8201.

Over 140 classes in the spring 2013 catalog are new. Some highlights include a series of Saturday cooking and craft classes for children and Backyard Chickens and (Sub)Urban Farm Tour for adults. Take a look at our great selection of healthy cooking classes from Zippy Light Gourmet to Raw & Vegan Smoothies, as well as wine and beer tastings. Try a Masala Bhangra (Bollywood) Dance Workout, improve your game with Pilates for Golf & Tennis Players or find out How to Sell Your Hand-Made Jewelry. Connect with the world by exploring The Evolution of Modern Iran, The Golden Age of Flight, Images of China or Sacred Symbols and Iconography Across Cultures. As Executive Director, Rachel Laibson, likes to say, “If you have an interest in a subject area, most likely we offer a course in that topic!”

This year Main Line School Night celebrates 75 years of offering intriguing, original and entertaining “Learning for Life” opportunities for the community. MLSN is planning activities to engage residents in diverse ways. Click the 75th Anniversary link on the Main Line School Night website for ongoing updates as we “Embrace Our Past … And Envision Our Future.”
