PHILADELPHIA: On October 7, 2012, The National Kidney Foundation Serving the Delaware Valley will host the 11^th Annual Philadelphia Kidney Walk at the Philadelphia Zoo. The NKF expects over 4,000 participants to attend and the fundraising goal is set at $475,000. Patty Jackson of 105.3 WDAS FM is this year’s returning celebrity walk chair. It is the second largest Kidney Walk in the country and the premier charity walk fundraiser for the Philadelphia renal community.

The National Kidney Foundation’s Kidney Walk is a non-competitive walk focusing on the education and prevention of kidney disease and the need for increased awareness about organ donation. The Kidney Walk presents an occasion for dialysis patients, organ transplant recipients, donor families, the medical and business communities and the general public to celebrate life and create long lasting support for the Foundation’s mission.
