1912 Photo Location, Revealed
The historical society's picture shows a station that's now in transition.
On Sunday, we asked readers to identify a historical photo taken in 1912 of a location in the Narberth-Bala Cynwyd Patch area.
Today, the answer: According to the Lower Merion Historical Society, it was "Cynwyd Depot", now known as the Cynwyd Station on SEPTA's Cynwyd Line, and the south end of the Cynwyd Heritage Trail. The station has undergone recent renovations to improve accessibility for train passengers and trail users.
Check next week for another mystery historical location, and email balacynwyd@patch.com to suggest a place in Narberth, Bala Cynwyd, Belmont Hills or Penn Valley we can use in this feature another time.
