The 7-Eleven convenience store on City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd was robbed twice in five days last week, Lower Merion police told news media Tuesday afternoon.
The first incident happened about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28. A thin, light-skinned black man with a bandana over his face walked into the store and demanded money from the cashier, police said.
The cashier opened the register, and the robber took about $200, then fled to Oakland Terrace. No weapon was seen, police said.
In the second incident, a man with a handgun entered the store about 3:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, police said. The man—described only as a black man in a gray or black sweatshirt—pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money, police said.
The clerk handed over about $100, and the robber ran to Oakland Terrace.
No surveillance footage or stills were available Tuesday from Lower Merion police.
Anyone with information about the crimes may call township police at 610-649-1000.

Where are the Police? Can we only depend on them to thwart a crime when they happen to be there already to be getting coffee or donuts? Time after time CVS, Babi's, Hymie's, Govberg, All the gas stations etc. the police only get there way AFTER the crime. We all now that 711 and Govberg have very good camera systems, so the police not showing us the video or images just shows they are not interested in solving these dangerous crimes and would rather just hand out traffic tickets and sweep all other crime under the carpet. Wake up Lower Merion Police!
