A body was found shortly before noon Thursday by bridge inspectors in Bala Cynwyd, Lower Merion Township spokesperson Tom Walsh told Patch.

The body was found near the former Connolly Container site on Righters Ferry Road, under the Schuylkill Expressway at the edge of the Schuylkill River, Walsh said. When police arrived on scene shortly after the discovery, they searched the immediate area by the river and also above on the Schuylkill Expressway.

Police described the body as that of a white male in his 30s, Walsh said.

The cause of death is under investigation. An autopsy will be performed on the body, which is now in possession of the Montgomery County coroner, according to Walsh.
