Patch wants to hear from residents of Narberth, Bala Cynwyd and beyond: What should fill the retail vacancies of your neighborhood streets?
Today, we're spotlighting the former home of Govberg Jewelers, at Montgomery Avenue and Old Lancaster Road in the Merion-Cynwyd business district.
The store left for Suburban Square in late March, and though Govberg still maintains offices upstairs, the 3,000-square-foot showroom on the first floor is available for lease.
So tell us in the comments section below: What kind of business would you be most likely to frequent if it moved in? And what other vacancies in town do you have ideas about filling?

At first I saw that as "yam shop". I was intrigued at the prospect of yam-cooking classes, super-specific though they might be. Yarn shop is probably a better idea.

Sort of off topic but how in the world did we end up with a pawn shop across the street from the old Govbergs. Do we have a say in the types of businesses that move into our neighborhood?

Continuing "off topic." We now have TWO pawn shops in Bala Cynwyd since another has opened at the Bala Cynwyd shopping center. Who is the target audience for these? Will they go away if nobody goes in them? I have never seen anyone go in or out.
