Morning Wintry Mix in the Forecast

Precipitation is expected to taper off by the afternoon.

The National Weather Service early Thursday was predicting a chance of rain and snow showers between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the Philadelphia area.

The possibility was between 30 and 50 percent, according to the NWS forecast, which called for winds up to 28 mph in the early morning. No accumulation is expected.

Rain showers could follow through late morning. Thursday's forecast high is 46.

In what would surely be a welcome development for storm-weary residents, the next precipitation in the forecast is not until a call for possible showers Tuesday.
