Narberth Resident Charged After Car Crash

The accident happened Feb. 8 at Elmwood and Maple avenues, borough police said.

A Narberth woman faces charges of careless driving and driving with a suspended license after an accident Friday, borough police said.

About 3 p.m. Feb. 8, the resident crashed her vehicle into a parked vehicle as she turned from Elmwood Avenue onto Maple Avenue, police said. She had been on her way to pick up her children from school.

A witness told police the woman had been alone in the car at the time of the accident, but when police arrived, her husband was in the car, too, and both said he had been driving. After more conversation with an officer, the woman admitted she had been driving, police said.

The woman's license was found to be suspended. She also said she had taken Percocet pain-relief pills, police said. She failed a field-sobriety test and was taken to Lankenau Hospital for a blood test to establish any level of impairment; results are pending, police said.
