Photo Gallery: "Art of Bread" Bakery Opens in Narberth
Georges Perrier of Le Bec-Fin is the proprietor.
The Art of Bread, a bakery-style cafe, opened for business Wednesday at 7 a.m. Located at 920 Montgomery Ave., in Narberth, the bakery is one of five establishments, including Philadelphia's Le Bec-Fin and Wayne's Georges restaurant, owned by Georges Perrier.
The Art of Bread serves freshly baked (twice a day) breads, pastries, quiches, sandwiches, coffee, tea, and more. Pastries are prepared under the guidance of Executive Chef Cederic Barberet at the Le Bec-Fin pastry kitchen.
Just before the doors opened, general manager Joel Perez said, "We are excited about our first day and looking forward to meeting our first customer." Within 5 minutes, Marlene Bizzari of Narberth came through the door.
The shop is open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday. Information and a menu can be found online at www.artofbreadbygp.com. Orders can be placed by calling 610-660-8222.
Our gallery shows the shop as it opened for business.

Not impressed. Very limited lunch menu, staff was unorganized, I had the tuna on top of a mixed green salad. The tuna was not ediable, very uncharacteristic for Geopge Perrier. The salad wasn't served with a roll or any type of bread. The iced tea was weak. I didn't try the pastries, but they looked beautiful. Definitely won't have lunch there again, but may try the pastries.
