Police Activity: DUIs, Fire Alarms, Animal Incidents
The volume of police responses remained steady week to week.
Lower Merion police responded to 239 calls throughout Narberth, Bala Cynwyd, Belmont Hills and Penn Valley the week ending Aug. 5, down from 243 calls the week before, department records show.

The police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) include:
- 7 animal incidents: 3 with dogs, 3 with deer and 1 with cats
- 3 DUI arrests: one Aug. 2 and one Aug. 4, both in Penn Valley, and one July 30 in Bala Cynwyd
- 3 faulty fire alarms, 2 accidental fire alarms
- 5 car accidents with injuries
- 11 car accidents with property damage
- 2 citations for public drunkenness
- 4 thefts
