Top Toys Kids are Asking For

Find out what are the hot toys kids are asking for this holiday season.

Gone are the days of the Cabbage Patch dolls and pogs as the top picks for under the Christmas tree.

Making sure to put just the right presents under the tree for children can be a trick even for Santa. We’ve put together a few suggestions to help you find the hot toys.

Retailers themselves are generally the best judges of what’s in. Here are what some of the biggest toy retailers in the Philadelphia area and beyond are saying:

Toys R Us (1154 W Baltimore Pike, Media)

This retailer has a Top 15 list of toys for boys and girls. Some of its suggestions include:

  • Doc McStuffins Time for Your Checkup doll
  • Lalaloopsy Silly Hair Star Doll
  • Furby
  • LeapPad2 Explorer
  • Wii U
  • Hot Wheels R/C Terrain Twister

To see the full list, visit Toys R Us online.

Target (1200 Baltimore Pike, Springfield; 857 Baltimore Pike, Springfield; 455 Carnegie Blvd, Malvern)

This store agrees with Toys R Us on a few counts, but has its own suggestions, as well. They include:

    • Easy Bake Ultimate Oven
    • Disney Bounce Bounce Tigger
    • Beyblade Destroyer Dome Set
    • LEGO Super Heroes Batwing Battle Over Gotham City
    • NERF N-Strike Elite Hail-Fire Blaster

To see the full list of suggestions, visit Target online.

Walmart (Marple Crossroads Shopping Center (Marple Township), 400 S. State Rd, Springfield)

This retailer has an extensive list of hot toys for the holidays. It’s also running an online contest where customers can vote for what toy they think is the “hottest” of the season. To see all Walmart’s suggestions, visit the store online.

    Amazon.com

This online retailer has a number of suggestions on its “hot” list. It also includes some suggestions for pre-teens and teens. Just Dance 4 anyone?

To see all of Amazon’s hot toy suggestions, visit the store online.

Good catch, Tony. Apparently the Furby is here to stay. I swapped it for "pogs" above.

You can Tickle a Furby or Elmo but The TickleMe Plant is now getting a lot of attention because it is real and closes its leaves like it is being Tickled when you Tickle It!
See why kids are growing this plant as a pet.

Skylanders Giants, the latest Mario, Dance Party 4, and Sing Party for the Wii-U are on the top of Santa's list. Pokemon cards, a new soccer ball, and Hot Wheels round out the complete list. The older nephews are asking for Foot Locker gift cards so they can get ridiculously-priced Air Jordan sneakers. Must be a "tween" boy thing!

If you want a real surprise on top toys...go to eBay and see what old original Tinker Toys are selling for...it's called inflation I guess but it points out that our kids don't need all the "bells and whistles" to be creative and still have fun.
