Two Women Sexually Assaulted on Montgomery Avenue, Police Say

The incidents happened Monday morning and Monday night.

Two women were groped in separate incidents Monday on Montgomery Avenue in Merion Station, Lower Merion police announced Tuesday afternoon.

About 9:55 a.m., a man grabbed a 26-year-old pedestrian's buttocks, then fled, on the north side of Montgomery Avenue in front of Chabad of the Main Line at 625 Montgomery Ave., police said. The victim described him as white or Hispanic, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and she last saw him running on Haverford Avenue into Narberth.

The other incident happened about 9:10 p.m., in front of McCauley Convent at 517 Montgomery Ave., police said. A man pulled a 34-year-old woman to the ground and groped her, then fled down Haverford Avenue. He was described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall.

In both cases, the suspect was said to be wearing a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

Neither victim was reported to be injured.
