Challah bread from Buy the Dozen in Narberth.

It may be a little hard to find—the bakery is located on the second floor of a building on Haverford Avenue—but you can find legitimate kosher pastries and other treats at Buy the Dozen, a longstanding kosher bakery in Narberth.

Know of any other local kosher bakeries or shops in the area? Tell us in the comments.

Buy the Dozen is under strict supervision by Orthodox Supervision Rav Hamachshir Rabbi Yaakov Roth to ensure that they only use kosher ingredients. That also means that none of their pastries or breads contain preservatives.

Buy The Dozen is located at 219 Haverford Ave. in Narberth. The bakery is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays and closed Saturday and Sunday.

By the Dozen may be a kosher bakery, but its products may not be eaten during Passover as bread and other leavened products are not permitted. If one knows only one thing about Passover, it usually is that bread isn't eaten. This item was obviously posted without thought.
