A woman believed to be in her 40s was found dead in a partially submerged minivan in the Schuylkill River early Sunday morning.

The cause of death is still under investigation and her identity is being withheld until her next of kin can be contacted.

According to Lower Merion police, at 7:05 a.m., parkgoers at Flat Rock Park noticed a van partially underwater off the Flat Rock boat ramp. Rescue crews were able to remove the woman from the vehicle, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. She was determined to be the only occupant of the silver Mazda.
