Thanksgiving isn't the reason for the high price of this turkey. Find out what makes this bird so pricey.
As Thanksgiving draws closer by the day, you may be preparing to buy your bird and wondering what the turkey will cost you. In Chestnut Hill, they have a very special turkey that will cost you $28,000. At the Philadelphia Print Shop, an 1860 chromolithograph of a turkey by John James Audobon titled “Wild Turkey. Male. American Cane" hangs prominently on the wall. Even though the print is a second edition, it is actually more rare than the first edition, according to Jane Toczek, who works in the shop. "The first edition in the same size was made in London. The second was made in New York in 1860, but the printing was never completed because most of the clients for this type of print lived in the South," Tozcek said. "New York couldn't do …

Lower Merion library employee Roz Warren is a creative writer in her spare time.
The New York Times' online section 'Booming' (which focuses on baby-boomer issues) on Thursday published the humor essay "I'm Not Getting Any Better" by Narberth-Bala Cynwyd Patch blogger Roz Warren. In the piece, Warren makes peace with all the things she'll never do. For example: I will do nothing to strengthen my core. I’m not even going to learn where my core is. I’m a swimmer. And I walk the Yorkiepoo every day. That will have to do. Warren said the editor of 'Booming' recruited her after finding her essay If You Are What You Eat, Then I Am A Cheerio on her personal website. "I totally lucked out," said the Lower Merion Library System worker and Bala Cynwyd resident. Do you, too, want to become famous? There can surely be no easier …

"The Pew Fellowship is designed to support mid-career artists ready to take the next step, based on work they have already accomplished," Albright said in the release. "The work on my film The Destiny of Lesser Animals (Sibo ne kra, Dabo ne kra), and the success from that was a major part of the Pew's decision to grant the award." Albright produced and directed the film during the 2008-09 academic year while he was a Fulbright Senior Scholar at the National Film …
