Released in two parts, Moving the Universe showcases Emiko’s funky pop-rock style, which has been described as a tapestry of sounds, bringing to mind "Adele meets Alicia Keys -- but edgier and more rock," and "Sara Bareilles but more aggressive and funky."

When Emiko went on tour in Japan in 2009, she had no idea that a 10-day stay would turn into a two-year whirlwind of events, sparked by an unexpected romance and moving to England with her new found love.  Now back home in NYC with her ex-pat amour, Moving The Universe chronicles her experiences of the last three years. Emiko has already received radio play in the US, UK, and Japan.  Part 2 of Moving The Universe will be released later in 2013.

Emiko’s album was produced by Howie Beno (Daft Punk, Blondie, Depeche Mode, Tom Jones) and features Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel) on drums; Neil Jason (Billy Joel, Celine Dion) on bass; Michael Alfero on guitar and Nikki Kimbrough (Broadway's Dreamgirls) on backing vocals.

Emiko performs at Jamey’s House of Music, 5841 Overbrook Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19131

Tickets are $16 in advance and $20 at the door

Showtime is 8 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013
