Symphony Square Hosts Free Seminar on Emergency Preparedness for Seniors October 29th

When emergencies happen, such as severe winter storms or hurricanes causing power outages, the best protection is being prepared, particularly for the elderly. Former broadcast meteorologist/storm-chaser, Tim Elbertson, the Community Outreach Coordinator with the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, will be the featured presenter at “Emergency Preparedness for Seniors,” a complimentary educational seminar presented by Symphony Square Senior Living at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the residence at 35 Old Lancaster Road, Bala Cynwyd, 19004. This seminar is open to the general public, however, seating is limited. To make a reservation or for more information, contact Lisa Maas at 610-660-6560.

Elbertson will offer practical advice to guests that range from creating an emergency supply kit to weather predictions as well as sharing interesting stories about his storm-chasing days. It is noteworthy that Symphony Square offers short-term stays for seniors during emergency periods of time and is one of the only area assisted living residences fully licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
