The photograph above, provided by the Lower Merion Historical Society, was taken somewhere in the Narberth-Bala Cynwyd area on April 15, 1924.

Belmont Ave looking up toward Belmont Hills at intersection just after current expressway entrance.

Belmont avenue going up Jefferson Street and on the right would be the now expressway.

At the bottom of Jefferson Street where it intersects with Belmont Avenue. The railroad bridge is just off the photo to the right.

Pretty cool. Must have driven up & down that hill over 20,000 times in the last 24 yrs. That's a keeper! Now if someone only had a photo of George Washington crossing the river down there. :)

Its the west bound exit off I76 to Gladwyne; where you turn right to go under the bridge towards the river. either that, or the next little bridge down that road along the river. No idea what its called.
