Get a Free Tree From PECO and Arbor Day Foundation

The trees distributed will be 3- to 4-foot, lightly branched bare-root seedlings.

Doing some landscaping this spring? You may be able to get a free tree from PECO and the Arbor Day Foundation.

The two are partnering on a project called Energy-Saving Trees, which emphasizes the benefit trees can have both to the environment and our power bills.

Trees reduce your carbon footprint, improve air quality and more effectively catch storm water runoff, Arbor Day says, while PECO points out that fully grown trees can help reduce the amount of energy your home uses.

Tree varieties still available include Bald Cypress, Black Tupelo, Shadblow Serviceberry, Sourwood and Willow Oak.

The trees distributed will be 3- to 4-foot, lightly branched bare-root seedlings.
