3rd Annual Fall Festival and Ribbon Cutting at Cynwyd Trail

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 28 from Noon - 3 p.m.
  • Where: Cynwyd Heritage Trail E Montgomery Ave & Bala Ave, Bala Cynwyd
  • Why Go: Join The Friends of the Cynwyd Heritage Trail and the Lower Merion Historical Society for their Third Annual Fall Festival – “Celebrating the Gateway to the Trail” – on the Cynwyd Heritage Trail in Bala Cynwyd. The event will start with a ribbon cutting ceremony officially opening the historic and newly refurbished Cynwyd Trail Station at Noon. A ribbon will also be cut to formally recognize the opening of the station’s Trailhead, which completes the 2.5-mile trail in Lower Merion. Enjoy food and refreshments, live music, exotic creatures and critters from the Philadelphia Zoo, hayrides, pumpkin hunt, face painting, crafts and giveaways. Witches of Narberth

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 27 from 1 - 4 p.m.
  • Where: Forrest Ave & Haverford Ave, Narberth, PA 19072
  • Why Go: Halloween kicks off with this popular annual scavenger hunt. Children of all ages are invited to join in this free event, where kids search downtown Narberth high and low for thirteen of the witchiest witches around. They collect treats along the way, and then return to the start to collect a Halloween prize. The hunt goes until 4 pm or until prizes are gone.  Don't forget about the Annual Halloween Parade on Tuesday night, Oct. 30. Costumed kids line up in the St Margaret School parking lot at 6pm.  The parade starts at 6:30pm, and goes through the streets of Narberth.  It ends at the basketball courts in Narberth Park, where kids get a goodie bag and treats.

Haunted House and Halloween Fun for Haiti

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 27 from 6 - 9 p.m.
  • Where: St. Asaph's Church 27 Conshohocken State Rd, Bala Cynwyd
  • Why Go: Put your costume on and come out for a night of family Halloween fun.  The guided tour of the Haunted House starts in the graveyard.  Lights-on tour for younger children from 6 - 7 p.m. and 'Lights-Off' for the older set from 7 - 9 p.m. In addition there will be arts & crafts, trick-or-treating and pumpkin decorating.
  • Cost: No admission charge.  Free-will donations gratefully accepted.  All proceeds benefit Hospital Albert Schweitzer in Haiti.

LMHS Fall Fair and Flea Market

  • Why Go: Come support the LMHS Class of 2014 who are hosting a Fall Fair and Flea Market. In addition to a variety of great vendors, the afternoon features food and drink, face painting and other entertainment. The Lower Merion Aces will be taking on the Harriton Rams at the same time, so shop and stay to support your favorite team.

Merion Concert Band's Fall Concert

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m.
  • Where: Harriton High School, 600 N Ithan Ave, Bryn Mawr
  • Why Go: The Merion Concert Band opens its 33rd season on Sunday at the Harriton High School auditorium. The concert theme is “Music for Winds and Percussion” and the program features pieces written exclusively for symphonic wind bands, as opposed to music written for orchestras and later transcribed for wind instruments.
