Girls Night Out: Cocktails & Couture

  • When: Thursday, Oct. 18 from 7 - 10 p.m.
  • Where: Merion Tribute House
  • Why Go: Ladies, come as you are and enjoy a fabulous girls' night out with "Cocktails and Couture" at the Merion Tribute House. Open to all women ages 21 and up, this event is presented by the Junior Women's Community Club of Narberth and all proceeds will benefit the Narberth Community Food Bank.  We'll have signature cocktails, wine, light food and desserts. There'll be vendors, raffles, silent auction and a fashion show presented by Skirt in Bryn Mawr.

Narberth Movie Night

  • Where: Narberth Borough Hall, 100 Conway Avenue, Narberth
  • Why Go: Come enjoy a free viewing of Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted.  Candy and refreshments will be sold to benefit the 4th of July Committee. 
  • Cost: Free

6th Annual Bobtoberfest

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 20 from 3 – 4:30 p.m.
  • Where: Kelly Drive Bike Path at Lloyd Hall, 1 Boat House Row, Kelly Drive, Philadelphia
  • Why Go: Bryn Mawr Running Company proudly presents the 6th Annual Bobtoberfest 4 Mile Run. This race is characterized by the Oktoberfest theme with race staff dressed in traditional German festive clothing. We are encouraging participants to also dress in the Oktoberfest theme. The 4 mile race will take place along Boathouse Row at Lloyd hall. The course will go out 2 miles and back on a flat course.The after party will be at the Ugly Moose in Manyunk where your first beverage is on the house compliments of the Bryn Mawr Racing Company. Bratwurst and other refreshments will also be provided.  Race proceeds will benefit the ALS Hope Foundation in honor of former BMRC club president Tom Corrigan.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

  • Why Go: Dispose of your hazardous waste safely.  This includes automotive products(Motor Oil, Transmission Fluid, Brake fluid, Antifreeze, Gasoline, Kerosene), Household Products (Drain & Oven Cleaners, Spot Remover, Dry Cleaning Fluid, Rug cleaner), Paint Products (Paint Thinner, Turpentine, Oil Base Paint, Furniture Stripper), Pesticides/Herbicides and other items such as Dyes, Lighter Fluid, Photographic Chemicals, Swimming Pool Cleaners, and Concrete Sealers.  For complete details on what is accepted, please visit their website.

Parenting on the Main Line

  • When: Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012 from 7:00-8:30pm
  • Where: Main Line Reform Temple
  • Why Go: Looking ahead into the week, parents don't want to miss out on the Parenting on the Main Line workshops designed by a group of youth specialists in our community.  This upcoming Tuesday, Dan Gottlieb will be kicking off the second year of workshops by talking about using self-knowledge to raise healthy kids.
