Meet The Biggest Baseball Fans In Narberth-Bala Cynwyd Patch

Meet your winners, Sam and Amanda Bailey, of Bala Cynwyd.

Jill Bailey, mom to these two baseball fans, uploaded a photo of the kids on the way to a Phillies game. Sam likes to spike his hair and dye it red on game days, she said: "He is hardcore and goes to games rain or shine, blistering hot or freezing cold."

Both Sam and Amanda are in the Narberth baseball league. Sam, 6, is in T-ball, and Amanda, 7, is the only girl on her baseball team.

"Last week she took a ground ball in the face and insisted on going back in when her lip stopped bleeding," Bailey said.

Bailey and her kids are both huge Phillies fans, and go to quite a few Phillies games each year, mom says. "Both Amanda and Sam insist that we head to the park early every time we go to a game so that they can wait on the first base line for autographs and their persistence has paid off!"

Bailey said her photo deserves to win because "Amanda and Sam are awesome fans.  They wait out rain delays, stay all nine innings without complaint (more if they need), they know the words to 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame,' and 'High Hopes!' Amanda can even whistle through her teeth!  Also they know all about booing!"

Bailey's photo of Sam and Amanda is now in the running to be Patch's Greatest Baseball Fan and take home the whole ball game of prizes. Voting for the regional contest will take place in the comments area of the regional voting article, from Wednesday, April 10 at 12:01 a.m. to Friday, April 12 at 10 a.m.
