Narberth Community Theatre Finds New Home

The company will perform at Overbrook Presbyterian Church in the fall.

Narberth Community Theatre spent the winter performing in Delaware County after its long-time home, United Methodist Church, was put on the market in the summer of 2012.

But with the stroke of a pen, the company lined up a new venue that's a little closer to home.

According to NCT president Steve Arcidiacono, the company has signed a lease to perform at Overbrook Presbyterian Church—just across the street from Lower Merion Township.

The church, which is located on the east side of Lancaster and City Avenue, seats between 150 and 200, but has never hosted a theatrical performance before. Arcidiacono says his company has its work cut out for it to get it up to snuff in time for the November 8 opening of "Nunsense."

"We’ve got a lot of work to do to bring it up to theatrical level," Arcidiacono said, adding that lighting, sound, and stage equipment upgrades will be necessary to get the venue ready.

"We’re confident we’ll be able to present our November musical there without any problems," the president said.

While Arcidiacono declined to provide details on the length of NCT's lease with the church, he did say he expects the arrangement to be a lasting one.

"We hope it turns into a long-term relationship."
