[UPDATE] Police Think There was No Fourth Armed Robber

Lower Merion Police now believe that there is no fourth suspect in the robbery of a Lower Pottsgrove bank, a police dispatcher confirmed Wednesday night.

Lower Merion Police now believe that there is no fourth robber of a Lower Pottsgrove bank, a police dispatcher confirmed Wednesday night.

Lower Merion Police, as well as members of the Radnor, Upper Merion, and state police, had spent most of Wednesday afternoon through the early evening helping Lower Pottsgrove Police search the township for the fourth member of a quartet that police said robbed National Penn Bank in Lower Pottsgrove on Wednesday at approximately 2:45 p.m.

Police arrested three of the men in Greenwood Court after a chase that spilled over into Lower Merion Township, but for reasons that are not yet clear came to believe a fourth man was still on the loose. The man was described as a heavy-set male who may have been armed.

Lower Merion Police established a presence in the area of Montgomery Avenue and Spring Mill Road and closed off several surrounding streets, while Villanova University and Rosemont College each went on lockdown.
