Mark Saltveit Sheds Light on the Mystery of Chip Kelly

Next week, the author of The Tao of Chip Kelly will speak at Main Point Books in Bryn Mawr

With training camp underway, and the start of the regular season just 39 days out, there's an understandable groundswell of interest surrounding the 2013 Philadelphia Eagles and new head coach Chip Kelly.

What kind of offense will he run? Who will quarterback it? And what's the deal with those smoothies?

Next week, Main Point Books is hosting an author who's in a unique position to answer some of the questions swirling around the most curious team in recent NFL history, and its iconoclast head coach.

On August 7, the Bryn Mawr bookstore is hosting Mark Saltveit, author of The Tao of Chip Kelly: Lessons from America's Most Successful Coach—an in-depth look at the singular approach to the sport that has driven Kelly's ascent, and made him the object of considerable media interest.

(For those who scoff at the characterization of a first-time NFL coach as "America's Most Successful": Kelly coached the Oregon Ducks, theretofor a middling program, to a 46-7 record in his four seasons at its helm.)

For a taste of the sort of insights Saltveit will bring to bear, check out the author's June Q and A with Birds 24/7 here or read Philly.com's review of the book.

Mark Saltveit will speak at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7 at Main Point Books, the Main Line’s newest bookstore, located at 1041 West Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr.
