Find Kosher Kitchens in the Philadelphia Area

Hanukkah begins Dec. 8.

To mark the Hanukkah holiday that runs from sundown Saturday, Dec. 8, to sundown Sunday, Dec. 16, Patch is sharing a list of Philadelphia-area businesses that operate with kosher-certified kitchens.

Different kitchens are certified by different Jewish authorities, as denoted below.

We encourage additions to this list if we've missed anything. Please tell us in the comments section below.

  • Acme, 829 Montgomery Ave., Penn Valley: The grocery store has a kosher deli, meat section and bakery. Certified by the Orthodox Union.
  • Black Shirt Caterers, 272 S. Bryn Mawr Ave., Bryn Mawr: This company operates out of the Barrack Retreat Center in Radnor's Bryn Mawr section. Certified by the Community Kashrus of Greater Philadelphia.
  • Citron and Rose, 370 Montgomery Ave., Merion Station: This kosher restaurant, which also caters events, opened in November, owned by the proprietor of the Philadelphia restaurant Zahav. Certified by Community Kashrus of Greater Philadelphia.
  • Giant, 50 E. Wynnewood Road, Wynnewood: The meat, deli, seafood and bakery departments are kosher. Certified by Community Kashrus of Greater Philadelphia.
  • Main Line Baking Company, 75 Wynnewood Road, Wynnewood: This kosher bakery at the Wynnewood train station offers gluten-free and dairy-free baked goods. Certified by the International Kosher Council.
  • Main Line Kosher Meats, 919 Montgomery Ave., Penn Valley: Certified by Kashrus Emes K'Halacha Kosher Supervision.
  • The Sweet Trading Co., 733B Montgomery Ave., Penn Valley: Chocolates, baked goods and other sweets are made in a kosher kitchen in this months-old local business. Certified by Community Kashrus of Greater Philadelphia.

Jen Kremer, you have to open in Suburbs - I love your baked goods but going to the city is a big hassle

I've added Main Line Kosher Meats in Penn Valley, and a reader points out "Best Cake Bakery and R & R Produce, both on Haverford Ave right across City Avenue."

Don't forget about Top This Frozen Yogurt which is under Orthodox Rabbinic supervision. Top This is located at 707 Montgomery Avenue.
