Lower Merion Public Schools Delayed; Freezing Rain Follows Overnight Snow

The National Weather Service measured 1.3 inches of snow in Wynnewood by 12:39 a.m. Tuesday, then maintained its "winter weather advisory" for freezing rain until noon.

The current list of Bala Cynwyd-area school statuses for Tuesday looks like this:

• Lower Merion School District: Opening two hours late; no morning kindergarten
• St. Margaret's School, Narberth: Opening two hours late
• Bala House Montessori School, Bala Cynwyd: Opening two hours late
• French International School, Bala Cynwyd: Opening two hours late, CBS Philly reports
• Main Line Academy, Bala Cynwyd: Opening two hours late, CBS Philly reports
• Montgomery Early Learning Center, Narberth: Opening two hours late

Based on a  on Tuesday morning, it looks like 1-3 inches fell on the ground, quickly covered or washed away by freezing rain.

A wintry mix should continue through rush hour Tuesday before changing to "plain rain" around noon.
