Rowdy Night at Taco Bell Leads to Citations For Three, Police Say

Public drunkenness, disorderly conduct: A 25-year-old Philadelphia man was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after he urinated on the side of the Belmont Hills Wawa around 4 a.m. Sunday morning, police said. The man was taken into custody and registered .157 percent on a blood alcohol content test, police said.

DUI, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, drug possession: Three men were stopped by police after they created a disturbance inside the City Avenue Taco Bell on March 6, police said. At 9:11 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to 5 W City Avenue on report of a disturbance and were told by management that the three men had been cursing and throwing things around, but had left. 

Police located the car and conducted a traffic stop. One of the men, a 27-year-old Philadelphia man, was cursing at police and was ordered out of the vehicle, police said. The man had a knife in his possession, and upon a search, police discovered a small amount of marijuana on his person, according to the report.

Police detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the car and the three occupants. They were arrested and taken back to headquarters. According to police, the 30-year-old driver of the car registered .20 percent on a blood alcohol content test and was charged with driving under the influence. The 27-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and drug possession. The third man, 29, is charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, according to the report.

Retail theft: A 19-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested and charged with retail theft after he was caught with $140 in unpaid Lord and Taylor merchandise in his backpack on March 4, police said.

At 2:42 p.m. on March 4, police responded to Lord and Taylor on report of a retail theft in progress, and upon arriving, store security told police they had seen a man remove the sensors from two pairs of Polo pants, worth $49.50 each, and one Polo shirt, worth $39.50, and place them in his backpack.

The man then left without paying, police said, and security followed him out, at which point the man ran across the street. Shortly thereafter, police stopped a man on St. Asaph’s Road who matched the shoplifter's description; he was positively identified by store security and the three pieces of clothing were found in his backpack, police said. He will be charged with retail theft.

DUI: A 60-year-old Ambler, PA man was cited for driving under the influence early Wednesday morning, police said. An officer observed that the man failed to stop at a steady red light near Conshohocken State Road and Bala Avenue, then went into reverse and backed up to the stop line, police said. The officer conducted a stop, and noticed that the man seemed very confused; the man failed field sobriety tests and registered .171 percent on a blood alcohol content test, according to the report.
