Wynnewood Avenue Tunnel in Narberth Closed Into Friday

The tunnel goes under the Amtrak/SEPTA train tracks.

A broken water main has forced the closure of the North Wynnewood Avenue tunnel in Narberth until further notice, the borough announced via email Thursday morning.

An afternoon email update told residents the tunnel would be closed through Thursday afternoon rush hour and until the repairs are completed, which is expected to be sometime Friday.

The old water pipes running under North Wynnewood Avenue and Haverford Avenue have burst several time in recent weeks, including on .

The tunnel under the Amtrak/SEPTA train tracks was the only entrance/exit at the borough's south end when the Narberth Avenue bridge was from mid-September through early November.
