Our lives are filled with delight and disappointment; pleasures and pains; joy and suffering. And the world around us can often seem filled with paradox where we are touched by remarkable, noble beauty in the midst of tragedy and sadness. So, how do we engage such paradox skillfully? How do we live a fulfilled life in the midst of such challenge and can meditation be a help? During this 5 session program, participants will:

 - Learn Shine Lhatong or mindfulness-awareness meditation as taught in the Kagyu-Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism

- Explore how Bodhi citta or awakened heart can offer a path for living an inspired life and for lending a helping hand to others

- Learn to establish a daily meditation practice and bring an awakened heart into your day to day life experience

This program will include periods of meditation, discussions of core principles for awakening Bodhi citta and guided instruction in the practice of Shine Lhatong.

The program director, Michael Carroll, is the author of Awake at Work (Shambhala, 2004), The Mindful Leader (Shambhala, 2007) and Fearless at Work (Shambhala, 2012). Michael studied with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche starting in 1976 and is an authorized teacher in the Kagyu-Nyingma and Shambhala traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. He has taught at Om Yoga (New York), Wake Up Yoga (Philadelphia), Verge Yoga (Wayne, PA), Empowered Yoga (Wilmington, DE), Karme Choling (Vermont), Kripalu (Stockbridge, Mass.), Open Center (NY), Omega Institute assisting Pema Chodren (Rhinebeck, NY), Won Institute (Glendale, PA), Zen Mountain Monastery (Mt. Tremper, NY), Shambhala Mountain Center (Red Feathers Lake, Colo.) and many other practice centers throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Australia.
