Trail Volunteer Day: Friends of Cynwyd Heritage Trail Planting Prep Day

Help the Friends of the Cynwyd Heritage Trail remove, redistribute and prep the basin for our new PHS design in the basin. The Friends were awarded a grant from PHS’s Green Machine. The Green Machine’s program focuses on beautifying gardens within the parks and training volunteers how to care for them.  PHS provides hands-on education, plants, materials, and assistance to volunteers who plant and maintain gardens in neighborhood parks throughout Philadelphia area, as well as assist park friends groups in creating maintenance plans for existing beds and planters.

We will meet at Barmouth at 9am to gather tools and get instruction. Then, we will walk to the area near the Cynwyd Playground and begin a day of fun. We have a big job in front of us and could really use the help with the prep. Gloves, tools, Refreshments and Giveaways will be provided.

Volunteers are an integral part of the Cynwyd Heritage Trail. They assist and support the garden with their time and their talents and make
many things possible that could not otherwise be accomplished.  Volunteers range in age and in experience. All are welcome.

We value the contribution of each individual volunteer and invite you to give your time in whatever activity appeals to you. In the process, you’ll get to meet new people, expand your knowledge of native plants, and spend time in the beautiful setting of the Cynwyd Heritage Trail. Groups are welcome.
