Harriton Crew Girls V4+ Goes to Henley
Harriton Crew Girls V4+ head to England to row the prestigious Henley Women's Regatta.
The River Thames in England has a long history, and for the first time Harriton High School will become part of its narrative when the Girls Varsity 4+ boat competes in Henley Women's Regatta. Participating in the event are Emma Butler, Aiste Balciuniene, Hannah Barton, Devon Kelly and Coxswain Sydney Soll.
The event, held June 21-23 in the town of Henley-on-Thames in South Oxfordshire, England, brings female crew teams from around the world to race in one of the top international rowing competitions. To be invited means that your team is accomplished enough to compete against the best high school crews in the world.
"It is a once in a lifetime opportunity," says Coach Liz Miller. "The girls are so proud to be able to represent their high school and their country." While in England the Harriton team has been invited by the CEO of British Rowing to visit the GB Rowing Teams' High Performance Base.
