Spring Cleaning Time!

If you’re planning on selling your home in the near future, take advantage of the warm days and clear skies by getting rid of unneeded household clutter. Everyone tries to do some spring cleaning this time of year, so with a little extra effort now, home sellers can save themselves a lot of hassle and stress when their putting their homes on the market.

Yard sales, Freecycle (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/LM-NarberthTotallyFreeItems/info), and Purple Heart (http://www.purpleheartpickup.org) are good places to start, especially for unloading furniture, unused exercise equipment, clothing and other odds and ends. However, there are some items that need to be properly recycled, and our townships have some ongoing and upcoming events to make your task a little easier.

In Lower Merion, Clean Up Weekend is coming up on April 26th and 27th. You can dispose of appliances, recyclables and trash free of charge at Public Works (http://www.lowermerion.org/index.aspx?recordid=5185&page=52).

County-wide, there are events for Hazardous Waste (http://www.montcopa.org/DocumentCenter/View/6719) and Electronics Recycling (http://www.montcopa.org/DocumentCenter/View/6718).

I can't wait for a round of warmer days to really dig into spring cleaning. After such a long and dreary winter, it will be nice to see my neighbors again, too!
