2 Drivers Fight About Obama on City Avenue, Police Say

No charges have been filed in the apparent road-rage incident.

Two drivers on City Avenue early Friday morning called police to report they had been victims of road rage in which President Barack Obama's name had been invoked, Lower Merion police said Monday.

About 6:30 a.m., a woman called police from Kings Grant Drive in Bala Cynwyd, just off City Avenue. She said she had passed a green Chevrolet Malibu that was driving slowly southbound on City. The driver then screamed at her, "I hate Obama" and used profane and racist language, she said. While she was on the phone with police, she said, the man pulled his car behind hers, got out, kicked and damaged her car, then drove away.

Soon afterwards, another officer received a phone call from the other driver, who said he had done nothing before a woman in a black BMW screamed at him, "Don't you know Obama is president?" before making a derogatory remark about the other driver being white and throwing a carton of iced tea at his car.
