Armed Robbers Strike City Avenue CVS, Police Say

The incident happened early Tuesday morning. No one was hurt.

Two armed people robbed the pharmacy on City Avenue Tuesday morning, Lower Merion Superintendent Michael J. McGrath told Patch.

Employees and the lone customer in the store at 7:20 a.m. were forced into the manager's office, where the manager was told to open the safe and remove cash, McGrath said.

The robbers left immediately with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured, McGrath said.

The two were described only as a black man and black woman, last seen running from the store on Bryn Mawr Avenue on the Bala Cynwyd side of City Avenue. Police are trying to recover surveillance video from the store to give fuller descriptions.

The store, which is open 24 hours a day, in October.
