Burglaries in Bala Cynwyd, Penn Valley Reported

Both forced and non-forced entries were reported to Lower Merion police.

Residents of three homes in Bala Cynwyd and Penn Valley reported burglaries last week, Lower Merion police said.

  1. An interior-motion alarm was activated sometime Saturday, Aug. 24 on the 1000 block of Centennial Road in Penn Valley during the residents' Aug. 23-26 vacation. Several watches and pieces of jewelry were taken. No force was confirmed to any door or window, but the locking mechanism on one window was found to not be working properly.
  2. Prescription drugs were stolen from a home on the 300 block of Kent Road in Bala Cynwyd sometime between Sunday, Aug. 25 and Wednesday, Aug. 28. The owner had left windows open on the first floor.
  3. A first-floor window was forced open sometime Friday evening on the 500 block of Manayunk Road in Bala Cynwyd. The owner had left all doors and windows locked while going out from 5 p.m. and 8:55 p.m. Cash and jewelry were taken.
