Car Stolen From Firestone Found Via GPS, Police Say

A Philadelphia man will be charged, according to Lower Merion police.

A 57-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested by Philadelphia police after stealing a 2008 Saturn Aura from Firestone in Bala Cynwyd on March 29, Lower Merion police said at a Monday briefing.

On March 29 at 1:20 p.m., a Firestone manager told police he had seen a man take two new tires, place them in the trunk of a red 2008 Saturn Aura and drive away. It was only after the man drove away that the manager realized the man was not the owner of the vehicle, according to the report.

The vehicle had an OnStar feature, and the police contacted the company, which was able to track the vehicle to Girard Avenue in Philadelphia, according to the report.
