Crime Stats: 11 Thefts, 13 Damaging Crashes

A round-up of police calls the week of Sept. 24-30 in the Narberth-Bala Cynwyd Patch area.

Lower Merion police responded to 244 calls throughout Narberth, Bala Cynwyd, Belmont Hills and Penn Valley the week ending Sunday, Sept. 30, up from 198 calls the week before, department records show.

A version of the department's most recent report—sorted by the type of incident, and with incidents from the rest of Lower Merion removed—is attached to this article.

The police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) include:

  • 7 animal incidents
  • 1 non-residential burglary, about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, on the 800 block of North Woodbine Avenue in Penn Valley
  • 2 DUIs
  • 2 fires: one Sept. 24 on the 500 block of Essex Avenue in Narberth, and one Sept. 27 on the 300 block of Trevor Lane in Bala Cynwyd
  • 1 fraud case
  • 13 car crashes with property damage
  • 11 thefts, including 4 retail thefts and 3 bicycle thefts
