Crime Stats: Assault, Burglary, Fires

The volume of police calls remained steady week to week.

Lower Merion police this weekend released police-activity statistics for the week ending Sunday, Dec. 16.

Police responded to 182 calls throughout Narberth, Bala Cynwyd, Belmont Hills and Penn Valley that week, slightly up from 179 calls the week before, department records show.

The police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) include:

  • 4 animal incidents
  • 1 burglary, Dec. 16 about 5:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of North Woodbine Avenue in Penn Valley
  • 2 domestic disputes
  • 1 drug overdose
  • 1 DUI, about 10:25 p.m. Dec. 13 at Montgomery Avenue and Woodbine Avenue in Narberth
  • 2 fires in Bala Cynwyd: Dec. 13 on the first block of Belmont Avenue, and Dec. 15 at Union and Bala avenues
  • 2 fraud cases
  • 4 car crashes with injuries
  • 9 car crashes with property damage
  • 2 public-intoxication citations
  • 1 simple assault, Dec. 13 at Hagys Ford and Conshohocken State roads in Penn Valley
  • 4 thefts
