Crime Stats: Penn Valley Fire, Post-Christmas Burglaries

Calls to police decreased week to week.

Lower Merion police this week released police-activity statistics for the week ending Sunday, Dec. 30.

Police responded to 170 calls throughout Narberth, Bala Cynwyd, Belmont Hills and Penn Valley that week, down from 194 calls the week before, department records show.

The police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) include:

  • 4 animal incidents
  • 3 burglaries: Dec. 27 on the first block of Overhill Road in Bala Cynwyd, Dec. 30 on the 200 block of North Essex Avenue in Narberth and the 1300 block of North Woodbine Avenue in Penn Valley
  • 1 domestic dispute
  • 1 fire, Dec. 27 on the 700 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue in Penn Valley
  • 2 car crashes with injuries
  • 6 car crashes with property damage
  • 2 thefts
  • 1 stolen vehicle, Dec. 28 from the first block of West City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd
