Daytime Burglary Reported in Merion

Crime follows one day after a suspicious visitor comes to homeowner's door

On Jan. 8, Lower Merion Township Police were called to the home at 287 Meeting House Lane in Merion to investigate a burglary that occurred between 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.

 The residents informed police that they arrived at their home at just after 2 p.m. to find that a pane of glass in their front door had been shattered and that the house had been ransacked.

 Gone missing were multiple pieces of jewelry and a laptop computer, police said.

The residents informed police that on Jan. 7, the day before the burglary, a black male rang their doorbell, but stated that he had the wrong address and then left after interacting with the residents.
