Man Accused of Driving Stolen Car Through Store Window

Philadelphia resident faces multiple charges after leading police on pursuit, crashing into Walls and Windows on Wednesday, police say.

A Philadelphia man was driving a stolen car when he crashed into the Walls and Windows store in Bala Cynwyd while being pursued by police on Wednesday, according to the Lower Merion Police Department.

Kentrell Darry Ceasar, 23, is charged with multiple felonies, according to the Lower Merion Police Department.

Police said an officer discovered a black Volkswagen Jetta blocking traffic at North Highland Avenue and Raynham Road at 12:37 p.m. Wednesday. When the officer pulled behind the car, police said the Jetta fled north on North Highland Avenue and crashed into the Walls and Windows store at 171 Bala Ave.

The car made it about 15 feet into the store before stopping, according to police.

The driver got out of the Jetta and walked away from the scene, but police took him into custody and transported him to Lankenau Hospital by Narberth Ambulance for minor injuries.

Two women working inside the Walls and Windows store at the time of the crash were not injured.

Police later determined that the vehicle involved in the crash was stolen out of Philadelphia.

Kentrell Darry Ceasar was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Driving Under the Influence
  • Fleeing and Attempting to Elude Police
  • Driving at Safe Speed
  • Receiving Stolen Property
  • Reckless Endangerment
  • Reckless Driving
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Institutional Vandalism
  • Aggravated Harassment by a prisoner
