Lower Merion Looks to Suspend Police Employee
While the township doesn't comment on personnel matters, the suspension may be related to a car accident involving an officer.
The Lower Merion Police Committee voted Wednesday night to suspend a township police employee for three days following an unspecified event.
The suspension can't be finalized until August 1, when the full board of commissioners is expected to vote to approve the suspension.
While Lower Merion Township public information officer Tom Walsh said that, per township policy, he was unable to comment on the matter, according to the Main Line Media News the suspension may stem from a car accident involving a police officer.
The paper, citing unnamed sources with knowledge of the situation, said the township has a history of issuing three-day suspensions to officers who get in car accidents on-duty.
