Lower Merion Police Cancel DUI Checkpoints Because of Forecast

The checkpoints, with roving patrols, are funded by PennDOT.

The Lower Merion Police Department has cancelled the impaired driving checkpoints, combined with "roving patrols," it had , the Township announced this afternoon.

The cancellation is due to "the threat of inclement weather," a Township spokeswoman said late Friday. Heavy rains are expected tonight and Saturday.

Sobriety checkpoints are being funded by grants from PennDOT.
