Man Robbed at Gunpoint in Bala Cynwyd Parking Lot

It happened early Thursday evening outside Joe's Crab Shack on City Avenue, Lower Merion police say.

A man who thought he would be buying computer software Thursday in Bala Cynwyd found himself being robbed at gunpoint during the transaction instead, Lower Merion police said Monday.

The unidentified man was not injured in the incident outside the Joe's Crab Shack restaurant on City Avenue, police said. It happened about 5:40 p.m. Thursday.

The victim had arranged to meet the cousin of an old classmate to buy a used computer program, according to police. He met the purported seller in the parking lot, handed him cash and asked for the program, at which point two men emerged from the "seller's" white Nissan Murano and pointed semiautomatic weapons at the victim.
