Narberth Collapse Victim Remembered

Anne Bryan, 24, died in the June 5 collapse of a Center City Building.

Hundreds, including Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, gathered at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts on Sunday to remember Anne Bryan, a Narberth woman and PAFA student who lost her life in the June 5 Center City building collapse.

PAFA professor Al Guy called Bryan, 24, an artist with passion and skill, according to CBS3.

“She was very vivacious and funny, very bright. One thing I admired about her was her work ethic,” Guy said, adding that, from what he understood, she had made plans to go landscape painting with friends the weekend of the service.

Bryan, whose mother, Philadelphia City Treasurer Nancy Winkler, previously worked as a financial adviser to Lower Merion Township, was not the only collapse victim with a connection to the area.

Bryan's childhood friend Mary Simpson, a Haverford High School graduate, also died that Wednesday, according to the Main Line Times. A third victim, West Philadelphia resident Juanita Harmin, 75, was involved in programs at New Horizon Senior Center, the website reported.
