On Monday afternoon, reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Narberth and Bala Cynwyd:
Driving under the influence: A 46-year-old Penn Valley resident was arrested about 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, and charged with driving under the influence.
Police pursued him after he was seen driving on Montgomery Avenue with no headlights. He pulled over at Woodbine Avenue and Willow Way, and his blood alcohol content tested at 0.30, almost four times the legal maximum for a driver.
The man was taken to Lankenau Hospital for treatment, police said.
Criminal mischief to an automobile: A Volkswagen Jetta owner on the 100 block of Edgevale Road reported someone scratched a figure eight in the front bumper July 29 or July 30.
Public intoxication: A resident of the 500 block of Gordon Avenue in Penn Valley was charged after a domestic disturbance at 11 a.m. July 31, police said.
Retail theft: Security staff at Lord & Taylor told police they detained a Philadelphia 18-year-old after he tried to steal $82 in merchandise the afternoon of Aug. 2. The man has since been charged, but the nature of the merchandise was not detailed.
Theft from vehicle: A wallet and cash were taken from a vehicle in the parking lot of 111 Presidential Blvd. between 1 and 2 p.m. Aug. 3, police said.
